I live in Portland, OR with my wife and two cats (Franny and Zooey). I have a B.A. in Religious Studies from Marylhurst University, and am planning to begin graduate school next year.

I practice vipassan meditation as taught by the late Mahasi Sayadaw. Daniel Ingram of InteractiveBuddha.com and Jack Kornfield of the Spirit Rock Meditation Center are also great inspirations to my practice.

Lately, I've been seeking out what it means to live authentically in this world. I do a lot of thinking about my life an the world I inhabit, but I would like to shift in to a period of “showing up.” Although it has become a kind of cliche in contemporary times, I value the “Be Here Now” philosophy.

I'm a bit of a podcast addict; my favorites being Buddhist Geeks and The New Man.

I am hoping to discover more about life by interacting with Gaia members. I would like to think that I will be a resource as well as a student in this community.
